Instructor: Julie Birnstein
This cooking class is designed for 8-12 year-old budding chefs and gardeners who love to get their hands dirty! Students will learn how to plant and care for their very own rosemary, cilantro, mint, or basil plant (that they’ll get to take home with them), then they’ll practice garden-to-table cooking in a hands-on cooking class featuring all the fresh herbs in their pots. Students will learn all about using herbs in the kitchen and will make herb-filled dishes before sitting down to enjoy a delicious dinner together.
On the menu:
Crispy Smashed Potatoes with Herb Butter
Al Pastor Street Tacos with Pineapple Pico de Gallo and Salsa Verde
Strawberry Pineapple Mint Agua Fresca
This class is open to students ages 8-12, each ticket is for one student. Students will eat dinner in class and will go home with a potted herb plant and recipe packet to recreate class dishes at home!
