Instructor: Jackie, co-hosted with Nicholas Holman
Fennel is teaming up with everyone’s favorite watercolor artist in Saint Louis, Nicholas Holman, for a two-day celebration of spring vegetables! Join us on Thursday, May 2nd at Fennel for a farmers market-themed cooking class using fresh spring produce, then meet again on Friday, May 3rd at Nicholas’ studio for a watercolor class to learn how to paint a gorgeous spring vegetable assortment.
On Thursday, we’ll gather to review what’s in season and best buying practices for seasonal produce. Next, we’ll divide into groups to make appetizers, entrees, and dessert for a three-course feast. We’ll reconvene on Friday to learn about watercolor painting basics and recreate the spring vegetable painting pictured below, featuring vegetables we cooked with the night before.
On the menu for Thursday’s class:
Whipped Ricotta Crostini with Carrot Top Pesto
Spring Vegetable Panzanella
Green Goddess Dip
Chicken Thighs with Caramelized Fennel & Carrots
Spring Vegetable Tart with Chevre and Herbed Pastry
Lemon Lavender Cheesecakes
One ticket gets you entry to Thursday’s cooking class and Friday’s watercolor class, both of which run from 6-9pm. No partial refunds will be given if you can only make it to one of the two classes.
Class times:
Thursday May 2nd 6-9 pm @ Fennel Cooking Studio
